In February 2020 Senatla Capital invested in equity in Joe Public United and also provided mezzanine debt finance for Ikamva Lakusasa, a black management investment vehicle, to also acquire equity in Joe Public United.


Senatla Capital provided a mezzanine loan in March 2018 to Hatvest Investments to acquire a 45% Undivided Share in the property letting enterprise comprising Hatfield Mall,  Hatfield Plaza, Campus Building and Standard Plaza.


Senatla Capital invested in November 2014 in equity in Generator & Plant Hire (SA) (Proprietary) Limited, taking a 25.1% equity interest.

Senatla Capital made a further investment in June 2016 in Generator & Plant Hire SA, increasing its equity interest to 45.3%.

Senatla Capital made a further investment in December 2017 in Generator & Plant Hire (SA), increasing its equity interest to 67.4%.


Senatla Capital invested in June 2016 in convertible debentures issued by Bounty Brands.  The convertible debentures pay an attractive investment yield and convert into Bounty Brands listed shares once Bounty Brands is listed on the London Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.


Senatla Capital invested in September 2013 in the property letting enterprise comprising the office building situated at 131 Mmabatho Drive, Mafikeng, North West Province.


Realized Portfolio Assets

Senatla Capital invested in August 2011 in equity in one of the two investors in Mediclinic International’s Black Economic Empowerment (“BEE”) scheme. The equity interest was realized in August 2015.


Senatla Capital invested in June 2012 and August 2013 in equity in the investor in Capitec Bank’s Black Economic Empowerment (“BEE”) scheme. The equity interest was realized in October 2016.


Senatla Capital invested in June 2012 in equity in Transaction Capital as part of its private placement to institutions, ahead of its Initial Public Offering on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The equity interest was realized in July 2015.


Senatla Capital invested in July 2012 in equity in Phuthuma Nathi 2, one of the two Multichoice South Africa Black Economic Empowerment (“BEE”) schemes. These schemes are traded over the counter on the Equity Express trading platform. The equity interest was realized in September 2013.


Senatla Capital provided a mezzanine loan in November 2012 to the Black Economic Empowerment (“BEE”) investor in AE-AMD’s two project companies, situated in the Northern Cape. The companies are solar photovoltaic (“PV”) producers. The mezzanine instrument was redeemed in November 2015.


Senatla Capital invested in November 2014 in convertible debentures issued by a Coast2Coast Investments’ investment vehicle.  The convertible debentures convert fully to Ascendis Health shares over a 3 year period at various discounted coversion ratios.  The portfolio asset was realized on 27 May 2022.


Senatla Capital invested in September 2013 in the property letting enterprise comprising the Max Borman Plaza shopping center situated in Rustenburg, North West Province. The portfolio asset was realized on 06 September 2022.
